First on our list is none other than Jesse Boy located on Santa Monica Blvd and Vine. This Korean inspired eatery is the perfect combination between sweet and savory specializing in Korean fried chicken and their vegan option Korean fried cauliflower. The best part of this establishment is that it comes with 2 chicken sandwiches and your choice of a side for under $15 enough to feed 2 people. Compliment your meal with a handcrafted Agua Fresca made with seasonal fruit. Chef Jesse, who trained at a Michelin Starred restaurant brings his childhood to the table with flavors that will leave you speechless.

Next on our list is none other than E Stretto. Just down the street from your luxury apartment on the corner of 4th St. and Broadway is a small deli with delectable meats to choose from. Despite being near Grand Central Market, this deli is your getaway from the typical tourist attractions. One of its most popular sandwiches is the ILL Papa. It is packed with meats such as Mortadella, capicola, chorizo, and manchego. If that is a little too much meat for you, I recommend getting the Turkey Pesto sandwich which is light, refreshing, and purely delicious.

Best Sandwiches in LA: Banh Oui / Banh Mi

Our next stop is none other than Bahn Oui / Bahn Mi with 2 locations in Hollywood and one on Melrose. Translated to “Bread Yes” this Vietnamese restaurant offers sandwiches full of vibrant colors and flavors. One of the most popular items is the Organic Chicken Sandwich. Perfectly crisp with just the right amount of heat is absolutely delicious. Additionally, either the oui spiced fries or the garlic cilantro fries will complement any sandwich you choose.

The Oyster- Fish Po’Boy will have you coming back for more. This sandwich is made with bread sourced from New Orleans, catfish, and oysters. Of course, you can’t eat here without ordering their light and airy beignets.

With 3 locations around Los Angeles, Fat Sal’s lives up to its name. Packing its sandwiches with items like chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks, be sure to come on an empty stomach. If you are counting calories, this may not be ideal for you. Fat Sal’s flagship location in Hollywood is the go-to spot for late-night munchies. Pro Tip: The Hollywood location brings in a very large crowd during the late-night hours. So, order ahead of time if you can.

Gish Bac

If you want a taste of Southern Mexican cuisine, then head on over to Gish Bac. Located in Mid City just off the 10 freeway, this authentic Mexican restaurant imports ingredients directly from Oaxaca. Although they serve exceptional dishes throughout the week, we would recommend visiting on the weekends because they serve barbacoa which is life-changing. One bite of the Torta Gish Bac will take you on a mini-vacation south of the border.
