Hello everyone and welcome to the AVEN blog! Every week, you have the opportunity of discovering the latest and greatest of everything happening in Downtown Los Angeles. From the best restaurants to the hottest events; you want it, we got it! That in mind, National Coffee Day is coming up this Saturday and listed below are the best shops in town to celebrate this delicious beverage.

VERVE COFFEE ROASTERS

Starting with Verve Coffee on 833 S Spring Street. Open every day from 7 AM to 7 PM, Verve has a modern ranch feel to it. With spacious indoor and outdoor seating, tons of open window, and hanging plants all around, Verve is a wonderful place to get some work done. In regards to their menu, they have a great Nitro Cold Brew and Americano.

PHILZ

Up next is Philz. Open daily from 6 AM to 9 PM, Philz roasts up their brew like no other. They craft their brew one cup at a time to create your perfect cup of joe. Their baristas are incredibly experienced and will not let you leave until they get your order the way you want it. All that in mind, we advise you to order either the Mint Mojito, the Silken Splendor, or the Philtered Soul. Additionally, we request that you order any of these brews “Philz Way,” which is medium sweet with cream. Now, it may be National Coffee Day this weekend. Nonetheless, Philz also has some outstanding teas. That includes their Istanbul Treat which we highly suggest ordering with cream, honey, and fully sweetened.

GROUNDWORK COFFEE CO.

Then we have Groundwork Coffee Co. in the Arts District at 811 Traction Ave. Here you will find some great brews along with a tasty breakfast menu including their Vegan Breakfast Burrito. Another great place to get work done, Groundwork is open from 6 AM to 8 PM.

STUMPTOWN COFFEE ROASTERS

Finally, we have Stumptown Coffee Roasters. Open from 6:30 AM to 7 PM, Stumptown is serving up some very creative pastries. In particular, their Miso Butterscotch Cookies and Kimchi Spam Musubi Croissants. As far as their brews are concerned, you cannot go wrong with their cold brew with chocolate milk. Another trendy joint in the Arts District, sipping on a cup of joe with a book here at Stumptown is exactly what National Coffee Day calls for.
